In the Indian subcontinent the game of ‘Cricket’ is followed with fervour that exceeds religion. It is therefore no surprise that Lahore based Arslan Khan Khakwani decided to translate his passion for Cricket and Mobile founding Tricast Media in 2006.
Cricket Companion was created with a vision of becoming the one stop goto place in the digital ecosystem for anything and everything related to cricket. Arslan had tremendous belief in the power of mobile. Having already experienced how consumers consumed content on their palmtops, he wanted to be ahead of the curve and started developing mobile apps. He faced several challenges related to mobile specifications, testing and compatibility issues when he started out, but his hard work, focus and determination paid off. He also received tremendous support from Rabia Afzar, Area Head DX, Near East at Nokia who helped him address some of these challenges. Today Cricket Companion is far ahead of it’s competition available on over 2800 devices across platforms. Tricast Media’s mission is to develop the most authentic socially integrated digital infrastructure for organized and unorganized cricket around the globe. Some of their popular apps include Cricket Companion, Fantasy Cricket Dream XI, Ludo & Carrom amongst others.

On partnering with Vserv for monetizing their apps, Arslan Khakwani, CEO Tricast Media states, “We were on the lookout for an Ad
network that had an expertise on both smartphones and feature phones. Vserv has helped us address our monetization challenges across platforms. From the initial integration to continuous review of different performance metrics, the Vserv team has given us great support and insights helping us achieve significant revenues.”
Their advice to budding app entrepreneurs is to be passionate, follow your heart and success and money will follow. With future plans of releasing the next version of Cricket Companion in July 2013, we are sure that Arslan and his team will continue to churn out amazing apps for cricket lovers in the region and wish them all the best.
