As rightly put by Confucius, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”. At some point of time, we dream of turning our passion into a full-time job or a business, but very few of us get to achieve this dream. It does take a lot of confidence, determination and planning to reach out to people and make them buy your dream. Our developer of this week is one such passionate start-up who plunged into the industry by participating in various contests, realized their creative prowess for the booming mobile world and thereby established their own game studio – Aruline Studio.
Set up in Bandung (Indonesia), Aruline Studio was founded in late 2011 to bring unique experiences in the game world. It was formed with a vision to provide people with a brief, fun escape from reality. From social games to mobile platform, the team of Aruline Studio is committed to make engaging games for the mass market.
Aruline Studio has three silver feathers to its hat with apps like Asylon World, Countastic and Pemilu Hore. Asylon World crossed 50k downloads within the first three months of its launch. Countastic won the Indonesia Bermain 2011 Award and Pemilu Hore gained recognition as #1 Trivia Games on Google Play Store Indonesia in March 2014 and was listed among the Top 100 Games on Google Play Store Indonesia in March 2014.

While referring to their monetization issues, the team said, “We’ve tried the format of paid games before, when Countastic was published by Square Enix, but with time, we realized that it doesn’t really deliver results in the Indonesian market. Hence we launched a free version of our games and joined hands with Vserv to monetize them. Our association with Vserv has been great, they have provided us with an easy-to-use, one-click App Monetization tool – AppWrapper. This has helped us get more players on board and earn more revenue.”
Going forward, they wish to create advergames and apps which provide insights into their customers and add more joy or value to their lives. Their aim is to expand the area of services. With this objective, their games will serve a better purpose and reach a wider customer base.
A word of advice they shared for their fellow entrepreneurs was to stay committed to their decisions, but to stay flexible in their approach. Here’s wishing the team of Aruline Studio all the very best for their future endeavors.
